Great day the first day in the KV Arena of Karlovy Vary. Here the Golden European League, with its new formula, reached its final stage. Both matches are finished 3:0, the day started the victory of Estonia against Portugal, after a 1st and 2nd set really balanced, all followed by the home team that also winning, destroying Turkey in front of a great audience. The finalist teams that will fight for the victory of competion, will play to the FIVB Volleyball Challenger Cup 2018, with Portugal, that despite the today’s match, are already qualified as hosts team.
In the details, in the first match, Estonia won against Portugal with following results: 26-24, 26-24, 25-18. Portugal started very well, with an advanced of 6:2, but Estonia start to play, until the score of 9-9. The first Estonian advanced, in a Set really balanced was at 19-16 but this time is Portugal to get back until 20-20. Balanced until the end, 26-24 for Estonia. Both teams played the second set in the same way, without a significant advantages, and despite the great attack of Portugal, with Marco Ferreira and the other spikers, also the final result it’s the same.
Portugal opened the third set very well, with a partial of 4-1, but Estonia want win the match, and finally, thanks to Venno and a solid work of the blockers the score go until 16-13. Estonia closed the match winning the third set 25-18. Oliver Venno of Estonia was the top scorer of the match with 15 points and 48% attack. Great match also for Andri Aganits, that signed 4 blocks. The best of Portugal was Marco Ferreira with 14 points and 50%.
The other match were played between Czech Republic and Turkey, and the home team won with this scores: 25:22, 27-25, 25-20. From the first set, the match was balanced, and neither team was able to gain an consistent advantage. Crucial for Czech Republic was the two points lead at 20-18, and the ability to keeping tophis gap until the end, for close the set 25-22. Only in this set Michal Finger, for Czech Republic, scored seven points!

The second set was very balanced until 10-10, and then Turkey gained an advantage. This set was decisive, and Czech Republic didn’t lose their motivation. Turkey got the first set ball at 24-23, but after a high level of volleyball, the Czech Republic won this set 27-25. The third set was another copy of all the match, but block made the differences and hosts took an advantage of four points. Despite Turkey fought, the Czech team conquered the first match ball at 24-19.Turkey managed to claim one more point but the match was ended by a serve mistake. The top scorer of the match was Michal Finger with 14 points and 39% attack, and the best player of Turkey was Vahit Emre Savas with 13 points.
