1367 👉🏼 Battle of Navarrete, La Rioja, Castile: alliance of King Peter of Castile and the English defeats Count Henry of Castile.
When Alfonso XI of Castile died in 1350 he was succeeded by Peter, called either The Just by his supporters or The Cruel by his opponents. After 16 years of rule, a civil war began when his half-brother Henry, backed by French and Aroganese nobleman and mercenaries. The war quickly became a part of the Hundred Years’ War between France and England when Peter fled to English-controlled Gascoigne and petitioned Edward, the Black Prince (the heir to the English throne) for support, which he received.
At Navarrete (or Nájera) the two nobles fought and Peter I won on the field, but failed to kill Henry. Eventually Henry would win the conflict three years later after he killed his brother in battle at Montiel. He was crowned Henry II of Castile and would become an important ally to the French against the English.

TV Guide cost just 15 cents when it was first published by Triangle Publications in the US in ten cities selling 1,560,000 copies. By the 1960s it was the most widely read magazine in the country.
Published in digest form for the first 52 years of its life today the magazine still features stories on upcoming TV programs.
