Buy homemade pecan-pies in a vending machine: in Texas it’s possible.

Here we are:
Today the vending machines are increasingly common all over the world. But just imagine a 24-hour vending machine restocked every day with homemade full-sized pecan pies! Impossible? Absolutely not!
If casually you find yourself driving down Highway 71 in Texas, I suggest to look carefully the signs directing you toward the giant squirrel statue holding a pecan nut. Because next to this funny roadside statue is something that should absolutely not be missed for all sweet tooth: a vending machine stocked with full-sized homemade pecan pies. The squirrel, named “Ms. Pearl,” is the world’s largest squirrel statue. It stands over 4 meters tall, and clutching a pecan bigger than your head! She beckons anywhere from 30 to 100 passersby a day from the highway to have their picture taken with her. Photos…and of course, pie! The squirrel statue and pie vending machine belong both to the nearby Berdoll Pecan Farm, whose pecan pies were so excellent, and with such high demand, that the company put in a 24-hour vending machine to satisfy pie-lovers at any times of the day and the night. The Berdoll Pecan Candy & Gift Company is a family-owned business that includes a gift shop, a pecan orchard, and of course also the huge adorable squirrel statue.
The pecan pie machine is the only one of its kind in the United States, and is located in front of the Berdoll Pecan Candy & Gift Company shop. It’s restocked every day with freshly baked homemade-pies and other sweet pecan treats, and, of course, even more frequently during the holiday season.
A curiosity: the vending machine is so unusual, funny and inviting, that if you visit the Berdoll Pecan Candy & Gift Co during business hours, the pies are $3 less in the store than they are from the vending machine!
